Helping Seniors Stay Independent

Back in your father’s day, every dad was the breadwinner, the handyman, the lawn guy, the hero. He taught you how to ride your bike, throw a curveball and drive a car. Sadly, things aren’t so easy for him anymore, and you wonder how he can safely stay in his house, as he so earnestly desires. Our Home Helper Services allow Manhattan seniors to continue living in the homes they treasure, keep their familiar routines, enjoy their beloved pets, socialize with friends and keep their sense of self-sufficiency.

How Do You Start the Conversation?

It may be that your Mom or Dad already recognizes that they could use some help, but are reluctant to mention it. You could ask, “If there was one thing you didn’t have to do around here anymore that would make life more manageable, what would it be?” If they have no response, mention some chore that you know they either never enjoyed anyway, or one that they used to really enjoy, but have not been doing because it has become too difficult.
